In-Store Sales Expect Record Holiday Season

by Kevin O'Neill

Consumers favor in-store fulfillment due to the convenience. Consumers favor in-store fulfillment services like “Buy Online, Pickup In-Store” (BOPIS) and “Buy Online, Return In-Store” (BORIS). Retailers are capitalizing on in-store foot traffic to market to consumers by offering incentives and creating live shopping experiences.

Post-holiday returns are part of the shopping cycle. Consumers desire an easy return process.  BORIS provides shoppers the ability to avoid the hassle of online returns.

The demand for in-store holiday shopping is increasing the demand for seasonal staffing. Retailers are hiring for fulfillment at stores/warehouses and not customer-facing.  Store managers are hiring for BOPIS, to eliminate shoppers’ challenges with sub-par customer service.
