Skilled Worker Shortage Challenge for 2018

The economy is improving creating a new challenge for 2018, skilled labor shortage. According to ASQ 2018 Manufacturing Outlook Survey, for the first time since 2013, the shortage of skilled workers overtakes the economy as the greatest hurdle manufacturers anticipate facing in the year ahead.  Vacant positions due to retirements are also a factor in the labor shortage.

What are manufacturing companies doing to solve the labor shortage? Hire an agency to find qualified candidates

  • Work with local colleges on programs to teach skills needed
  • Enhanced benefits packages to attract qualified candidates
