Steele Solutions Announces Additional Facility
July 31, 2017, Franklin, Wis. — Steele Solutions, Inc., has added a new facility in Milwaukee to meet the increased demand for its mezzanines, equipment platforms, catwalks and other steel structures for material handling, storage, equipment support applications used in distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing and military settings.
The new facility will house technical services including engineering and drafting, sales and administration, and manufacturing.
Lean manufacturing processes and automated equipment will provide efficiencies and increase productivity, said Brian Goetz, operations manager.
“The new facility allows us space to integrate automated equipment into our manufacturing process, improving efficiency, productivity, speed, quality and safety,” Goetz said.
New equipment includes a PythonX multi-dimensional, high definition plasma cutting system that automates several processes, including cutting, coping and marking, fabricating structural steel sections in a matter of minutes.
A new, state-of-the-art, high speed automated powder paint line paints steel members quickly and efficiently, and complements a powder paint line at the Franklin manufacturing plant.
The new shipping bay streamlines incoming deliveries of raw materials and outgoing customer shipments. The additional manufacturing floor space accommodates additional welding stations and blasting equipment.
“The 230,000-square-foot facility along with our 80,000-square-foot facility in Franklin will allow us to expand and meet the growing needs of our existing customers, and service new customers and industries,” said Mike Thelen, CEO.
“We’ve grown tremendously over the past five years. We attribute that growth to the unparalleled commitment to our customers and our dedication to listen and the timely response we give to every project and every customer,” stated Kevin O’Neill, president.
According to Terry Young, vice president-engineering, “the new facility will expand our production capabilities and office space, allowing us to grow our technical services team with project engineers and several drafting positions.”
The new Orchard Street facility will lead to the hiring of additional employees over the next year, Thelen said.
