Amazon Tops 1 Billion+ in Global Shipments

2016 holiday season was the best ever for Amazon, shipping more than one billion items around the world. Top selling devices included Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, Fire tablet and Amazon Echo. Customers purchased and gifted a record-setting number of devices from the Amazon Echo family.

Holiday Highlights:

  • Sales of Amazon Echo family of devices up more than 9x
  • Echo Dot is the best-selling, millions sold worldwide since launch
  • Alexa devices made up top-selling products across all categories on Amazon.com

What contributed to record online sales for Amazon? Almost half of all U.S. households are subscribed to Amazon Prime, half of all online shopping searches start directly on Amazon, and Amazon captures nearly one in every two dollars that Americans spend online.
